Join us for Site 4, Sunday, October 18th at Harrison Street DIY Skate Park in the Columbus Park

neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri. Site 4 is the fourth iteration of a one-day, outdoor, site-

specific art exhibition that is put together in collaboration with Kansas City artist-run galleries.

Twelve galleries and twenty-five artists will be installing works of art, staging sound pieces, and

giving performances for visitors to encounter.

Because the skatepark is sadly being repurposed for housing this event will also be raising funds to

help Harrison Street DIY Skatepark to relocate. We will have live music, handmade t-shirts, free

posters, and of course open skating to celebrate the park and help them in their next chapter.

The Harrison Street DIY Skatepark is a perfect location for Site Four, given its history as a grassroots

initiative to build a community space in a neglected area. Started in 2014 with a $50 budget and a

few volunteers, today the skatepark encompasses more than 14,000 sq. ft. and attracts skaters

from across the United States. It is known particularly for being an inclusive space that welcomes

women and LGBTQ+ skaters.

Galleries and organizations involved are: The Waiting Room, In Other News Gallery, Troost

Gardens, 3West KC, Gallery Athanor, Charmed, 100,000,000, Plug, Special Effects, Third Pine

Collective, and Twin Hound Print Shop.

Featured artists include: 51 Personae, Allyse Bradley, Angelica Pearl Drake, Davin Watne, DeAnna

Skedel, Ellie Westhoff, Emily Blaine, Emmett Merrill, Erin Dodson, Gage Macias, Heidi Schultz,

Hunter Gonzalez, Johanna Brock, Jonny McCaffery, Jordan Kniss, Katelyn Betz, Katie Swan, Lucas

Nguyen, Rainey King, Rie Egawa, Sam Mendoza, Stray Cat Film Center, Summer Brooks, Tianna

Morton, and Trinity Pote. The event will also feature a music by Sam Fuller-Smith and a dance

performance by Tianna Morton.

Bring your wheels and join us outdoors to celebrate contemporary art and community. The

main bowls will remain open for skating. Support the park by purchasing a T-shirt. All T-shirt sales

will be gifted to the park. For full details, visit www.waitingroomgallery.com/site-4.

Site 4 is organized by The Waiting Room + Harrison Street DIY and made possible by a Rocket

Grant! Thank you to Charlotte Street, Spencer Museum of Art, and The Andy Warhol Foundation.
